Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy for Women Over 50
What kind of support do you offer?
I offer one-on-one therapeutic support for people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or burdened by old emotional patterns—especially those who’ve spent years on a spiritual path but still feel unresolved inside. My approach blends Internal Family Systems (IFS), Buddhist insight, and a deep respect for your unique experience.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person sessions?
Research shows online therapy is equally effective, especially for anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Many clients prefer the privacy and convenience.
Do you have experience with midlife transitions?
Yes, I specialise in helping women navigate career changes, empty nest syndrome, relationship transitions, and identity shifts common in your 50s and beyond.
What makes your approach different from general counselling?
I combine 30+ years of Buddhist meditation practice with specialised training in Internal Family Systems Therapy and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, offering both practical tools and deep inner work. This approach recognises the importance and wisdom of the body in the therapeutic process.
How do I know if this work is right for me?
You might resonate with this work if:
→ You’ve done a lot of inner work but still feel emotionally stuck
→ You’re exhausted by your inner critic or self-doubt
→ You’ve used spiritual practice to cope, but it hasn’t brought lasting peace
→ You long for clarity, softness, or simply a different way to relate to yourself
If you're not sure, you're welcome to book a short call and we can talk it through—no pressure.
How long are sessions and how much do they cost?
Sessions can be either 60 or 90 minutes. Currently my fees are as follows:
1 Hour--$160.00
1.5 Hours--$240.00
If you’re covered for mental health services, you may be able to claim a rebate. I hold private health provider numbers with BUPA and the Australian Regional Health Group (ARHG).
Please check with your individual fund to confirm your eligibility and rebate amount, as this can vary depending on your level of cover.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I ask for 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule, otherwise the full session fee may apply.
