NDIS Support & Counselling

Emotional Wellbeing, Nervous System Regulation, and Relational Support

I offer counselling and therapeutic support for NDIS participants and carers who are living with emotional distress, nervous system overwhelm, trauma responses, or the ongoing impact of health and life stressors.

My work is steady, relational, and body-aware. Rather than focusing only on symptom management, we work together to understand what is happening in the nervous system and inner world, and to build greater stability and capacity over time.

Sessions are available online, with in-person availability in Bega.

About Me

I am a psychotherapist and counsellor with a long background in body-based work and relational support.

For over 30 years, I worked on and off as a massage therapist, supporting people living with stress, physical tension, injury, and the emotional impact of long-term strain on the body. This work shaped my understanding of how emotional distress, trauma, and nervous system activation are often held physically, not just cognitively.

My current therapeutic work draws on formal training in:

  • Sensorimotor Psychotherapy – supporting nervous system regulation and trauma responses

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – working with anxiety, self-doubt, and protective inner patterns

  • Somatic and relational approaches – supporting safety, steadiness, and emotional capacity

I bring a calm, respectful, and non-pathologising approach to my work, and I am especially attuned to people who have spent years coping, pushing through, or managing on their own.

Therapeutic Approach

My work is grounded in the understanding that emotional distress is often a reasonable response to long-standing stress, trauma, health challenges, or unmet needs — rather than something that needs to be forced away or fixed.

Together, we focus on:

  • Supporting nervous system regulation and emotional safety

  • Understanding patterns of anxiety, reactivity, or shutdown

  • Developing steadier internal resources over time

This work is trauma-aware, body-based, and collaborative, and is adapted to each person’s needs and pace.

NDIS Support I Offer

I work with NDIS participants who experience:

  • Anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or distress

  • Trauma responses or a history of adverse experiences

  • Difficulties with emotional regulation

  • Ongoing nervous system activation or shutdown

  • Reduced sense of safety or self-trust

I also support carers and family members, recognising the emotional load and complexity that caring roles often involve.

Support may include:

  • One-to-one counselling sessions

  • Emotional regulation and nervous system support

  • Support during periods of transition or increased stress

  • Collaborative work with families or support workers when appropriate

Sessions may be funded under an individual’s NDIS plan, depending on plan goals and supports.

Experience with Health Conditions and Trauma

Alongside emotional and psychological work, I have experience supporting people living with:

  • Physical health conditions

  • Chronic stress and fatigue

  • Trauma held in the body

  • Stress-related symptoms that affect daily functioning

This work recognises the close relationship between body, nervous system, and emotional wellbeing, and proceeds at a pace that respects each person’s capacity.
